Slack
Get Sendable alerts as direct messages in Slack.
The Sendable app for Slack sends each member a direct message when a lead replies, accepts an invitation or is marked Interested, when a signal finds new leads, and when something stops and needs you.
It works in two steps:
- An owner connects your Slack workspace to Sendable, once.
- Each member links their own Slack account once. Every alert is on by default.
Connect your Slack workspace
Open the Slack integration
Go to Settings > Integrations > Slack and click Connect.
Allow Sendable in Slack
Slack asks you to pick a Slack workspace and to let Sendable send messages. Click Allow.
Back in Sendable
You land on the Slack page with the message Slack connected. Your own account is already linked, with every alert turned on.
Only an owner can connect the Slack workspace. Other members see Not connected to your organization until an owner has done it.
Link your Slack account
A member receives no alert until they link their own Slack account. This includes members who join after Slack was connected.
Open the Slack page
Go to Settings > Integrations > Slack.
Click Link account
Under Your Slack account, click Link account and sign in to the same Slack workspace your owner connected.
Pick your alerts
Every alert is on by default. Turn off the ones you don't want.
Sendable only reads your Slack user ID to know where to send your messages. It does not keep access to your Slack account.
Alerts
Your choices apply to you only, across every team you belong to in the workspace. Use Turn all off to stop every alert at once.
| Alert | When you get it |
|---|---|
| Lead replied | A lead replies to a campaign for the first time |
| Invitation accepted | A lead accepts a campaign invitation |
| Lead marked Interested | Someone marks a lead as Interested |
| New leads found | A signal run finds new leads |
| Signal failing | A signal fails 3 runs in a row |
| Out of credits | Signals pause because no credits are left |
| Campaign paused | A campaign stops on its own after an error |
| LinkedIn account stopped | A LinkedIn account is disconnected or restricted |
Each message names the lead, signal, campaign or LinkedIn account concerned and has a button that opens it in Sendable. Lead replied quotes the start of the reply. Lead marked Interested names the LinkedIn account that talks to the lead and opens the conversation in your inbox, or the lead when there is no conversation yet. When your workspace has several teams, the message also names the team.
Who receives what
- You receive alerts from the teams you are a member of.
- If your Inbox access is set to Own inbox, you only get Lead replied for the LinkedIn accounts you connected yourself. Lead marked Interested opens the lead instead of the conversation when you can't read that account's inbox. The other alerts are not affected.
How often
Sendable never repeats an alert for the same thing:
- Lead replied and Invitation accepted: once per lead and campaign.
- Lead marked Interested: at most once a day per lead.
- New leads found: once per signal run.
- Signal failing and Campaign paused: at most once an hour for the same signal or campaign.
- Out of credits: at most once a day per team.
- LinkedIn account stopped: once each time the account is disconnected, or once a day while it is restricted.
Send a test
Under Test an alert, pick an alert and click Send test message. You receive a sample message marked [Test] in Slack.
Disconnect Slack
An owner can click Disconnect workspace on the Slack page. Nobody in the workspace receives Slack alerts after that, and every member's link is removed.
Connecting another Slack workspace has the same effect: only the owner who connects it is linked again, and every other member has to click Link account again.
Good to know
- Alerts are direct messages. Sendable never posts in a channel.
- A Sendable workspace connects one Slack workspace.
- Alerts are in English.
- You can't reply to the Sendable app in Slack: use the button in the message to open Sendable.
Troubleshooting
| You see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Use the Slack workspace your organization connected | You signed in to another Slack workspace. Click Link account again and pick the one shown on the Slack page. |
| You can't connect Slack here | Only an owner can connect the Slack workspace. Check that you are signed in to Sendable with the right account. |
| Your organization has not connected Slack yet | Ask an owner to connect Slack first. |
| Your Slack account is no longer linked | You left the Slack workspace or were deactivated. Click Link account again. |
| Slack connection cancelled | You clicked Cancel in Slack. Start again. |
| The Slack page shows Slack as not connected | Someone removed the Sendable app from Slack. An owner needs to connect it again. |
Not receiving an alert you expect? Check that it is turned on, that you are a member of the team it comes from, then send a test.
